GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Retail Sales Specialist acts as a point of contact for our customers. The duties of the Retail Sales Specialist include assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Offer top-notch customer support by greeting and helping clients with their needs.
• Utilize the register and scanner for listing and totaling the items purchased by the customer, receiving payments, giving back the correct change, packaging the goods, and aiding customers in selecting items when needed.
• Comply with the company's guidelines for handling goods; unbox shipments, organize stock, refill store shelves, and create appealing product presentations.
• Responsibilities include store maintenance tasks like clearing trash, dusting surfaces, mopping floors, tidying the restroom and receiving space, as well as aiding in the preparation of sidewalk exhibits.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

• Proficiency in interpersonal and oral communication is key to successful interactions.
• Familiarity with safety policies and protocols.
• Skill in comprehending and executing planograms and directives for presenting products.
• Familiarity with elementary methods for dealing with cash transactions.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Capability in executing cash register responsibilities effectively.
• Capacity to store products for sale.

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

• Candidates with a high school diploma or similar qualification are preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Walking and standing often.
• Engaging in repeated bending, stooping, and kneeling while managing the cashier area, organizing products, and unloading shipments; this could also necessitate the capacity to push or pull rolltainers during merchandise stocking.
• Employing various items like handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, and merchandise containers is a routine part of the job, in addition to utilizing equipment like two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers.
• Consistent and appropriate lifting of objects up to 40 pounds; sporadic lifting of items up to 55 pounds.
• Periodic climbing up to six feet high with the help of a step ladder.
• Fast-moving setting with a moderate level of background noise.
• Occasional encounters with outdoor climate conditions.
